About me

Hello, and welcome to All About Polymers. I’m Sara L. Reynoso, and I created this project to make the world of chemistry, plastics, and the polymer industry clear, accurate, and genuinely accessible — whether you’re a high school student curious about the materials all around you, a university student deepening your studies, or a professional looking for reliable, well-referenced information.

My background

I’m a Chemical Engineer from the National University of Mexico (UNAM), specialized in plastic resins — from polymerization and chemical modification to transformation through injection molding and extrusion. Over more than 35 years at DuPont and Dow, I’ve worked across engineering, fluorinated, and ethylene-based polymers for the electronics, automotive, and oil industries, earning some international patents along the way. In 2011 I received DuPont’s Excellence Award, the company’s highest technical honor, for my work on PVC modification for low-cost housing.

I’m also the author of the books Plastic Polymers and Plastic Recycling, and the creator of www.todoenpolimeros.com, the Spanish-language home of this project.
